Baby Jamie: Home for Christmas
Lauren has shared how grateful she is for the incredible care and support she and her 2 boys received when in the neonatal unit at Crosshouse, as they celebrate their first Christmas as a family of four.
"It’s not an easy journey having a baby in NICU, but knowing he is in safe hands when I’m not there, makes all the difference!
Matthew, now 9, was born at 29+6 weeks. I don’t remember staff names from back then, but I will never forget the kindness, help and support I received from everyone.
Jamie is our most recent NICU lodger. He was due on the 22nd of December, but unfortunately, he was also born early, making his way into the world at 32+5 via emergency c-section, weighing 4lb 6oz. Thankfully, Jamie got home on the 26th of November, just shy of 4 weeks after being born!
I want to say a big thank you to all the staff - especially Kim, Jan and Shona. All of the staff who cared for Jamie have been amazing, they always took the time to talk to me and reassure me that I could call anytime."
Lauren recently took the boys to meet Santa at our Grotto in Ayr Central, and the family is now looking forward to spending Christmas together at home.
