Little Lilly's First 5k!
Join us in saying a huge WELL DONE to Lilly who ran her first ever 5k raising a tremendous £435 for Crosshouse Children’s Fund!
Seven-year-old Lilly from Troon visits Crosshouse for care, and wanted to help boys and girls like her who have to spend time in hospital.
Lilly was super motivated for her challenge after friends and family helped her smash her initial target on JustGiving of £100.
“I go to Crosshouse for my eye check-ups and they’re really nice to me there, so that’s why I wanted to help them with my run.
I had fun doing my 5k Challenge and feel really proud because it was my first ever 5k. I’m really happy that I get to help the boys and girls at Crosshouse, and that I got a special Crosshouse medal in the post too!”Lilly, 7
Mum Rachael told us: “Before the 5k, Lilly was finding it quite tough to get from 2 to 3 miles, but once she saw people sponsoring her and surpassing her initial target, it really encouraged and motivated her. This was a really nice thing for Lilly to do in lockdown, and I’m so proud that she chose to raise money for our local children in hospital.”
We’d like to share an extra special thank you with Lilly for her terrific fundraising efforts which will help to give babies, children and young people from across Ayrshire & Arran the best possible hospital experiences.
If your wee ones are looking for a new lockdown challenge, how about getting them involved with our 5k Walk for Heroes? Once they complete their challenge, they’ll receive a special Crosshouse medal and certificate for their efforts too!
